How much does it cost to send USDT?
The network fee to send USDT on each major network right now, in US dollars. Updated every 10 minutes (2026-10-11 02:50 UTC).

What the numbers mean
For most people the choice of network now matters more than the time of day. Ethereum's own fees have fallen to cents, and layer-2 networks, Solana and TON charge fractions of a cent. Tron, where much of the world's USDT still moves, is the exception: each transfer burns TRX for energy, so it costs dollars rather than cents unless you stake or rent energy.
Before you send
- Use a network both sides support. USDT sent on the wrong network can be lost.
- Keep a little of the network's coin (TRX, ETH, SOL, BNB, POL, TON) in the wallet to pay the fee.
- For a new recipient, budget for the higher "new address" fee.
- On an exchange, compare its withdrawal fee per network: it is set by the exchange, not by the network.

Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest network to send USDT?
Right now it is Optimism, at about $0.000003 per transfer. Layer-2 networks (Base, Arbitrum, Optimism), Solana, TON, BNB Chain and Polygon all cost well under one cent in normal conditions. The table above updates every 10 minutes.
Why is sending USDT on Tron (TRC-20) so expensive now?
A USDT transfer on Tron uses about 64,000 energy (about 130,000 when the recipient has never held USDT). Without staked or rented energy the sender burns TRX for it, which is about $2.24 per transfer and roughly double to a new address. Renting energy or staking TRX lowers this, but the network fee itself is no longer the cheapest option.
Why does a transfer to a new address cost more?
Storing a balance for an address that never held the token is extra work for the network: on Ethereum-style chains it is a new storage slot, on Solana the sender pays rent for a new token account, and on Tron it needs about twice the energy.
Does an exchange charge the same?
No. Exchanges charge their own withdrawal fee, which is often higher than the network fee shown here. Check the fee on the withdrawal screen and pick a network the recipient supports: tokens sent on the wrong network can be lost.
Where does this data come from?
GasNow reads each network directly every 10 minutes: public RPC nodes for Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche, TronGrid for Tron, Solana RPC, Toncenter for TON and mempool.space for Bitcoin, with prices from Coinbase and Kraken. The numbers are also available as JSON.
